The story
An investment banker who became a marketing executive.
An investment banker who became a marketing executive.
An investment banker who became a marketing executive.
Jon started out in finance, building financial models and learning the discipline of the numbers before he ever ran a marketing budget. When he moved into marketing, he never lost that rigor and he became a brand builder who weighs the data behind every decision: a marketer with a banker's command of the numbers.
Today, through Emulsion, he brings that operator's perspective to founders, CEOs, boards, and investors as a fractional CMO, growth advisor, and angel investor. His clients span consumer brands across categories, including Roam Luggage, E-Fish, Wood Veneer Hub, Bearaby, and West & Willow. His leadership style is consistent: purpose-driven, team-first, and built on clear systems that turn brand love into durable, profitable growth. That sense of purpose isn't only professional, Jon co-founded Minds Matter Southern California, a nonprofit that helps low-income high school students get to college and beyond.
As the first executive hire and CMO at Hedley & Bennett, Jon scaled the company from roughly $2M to over $30M, owning brand, e-commerce, B2B, partnerships, and operations. He led the brand's pivot from apron maker to full culinary lifestyle brand, with a complete brand refresh and a new go-to-market strategy. That work fueled sellout collaborations, including a Vans partnership that sold out in under 72 hours, and made the brand a fixture on cooking shows, including a fully integrated, unpaid presence on Bravo's Top Chef. Jon also led the company's first outside capital raise.
Before Hedley & Bennett, Jon spent more than a decade building two agencies that served clients ranging from early-stage startups to Fortune 100 brands. There, he launched Chicago's St. Jane Hotel (later acquired by Montage International), helped T-Mobile sharpen its conversion funnel, supported Lands' End in its transition to bring new cultural relevance to the global apparel brand, and led the team that rebranded Mr. Cooper from the ground up, a transformation that helped position the company for its recent $14.2B acquisition by Rocket.
Earlier, at Brand Sense Partners, Jon began by consulting to brands such as Nordstrom, Clorox and Electronic Arts to builting one of the first agency-led brand incubators, leading the team that acquired and operated and sold two brands, Shabby Chic and DwellStudio, and launched two apparel brands, Penny Stock and M.Nii.
Jon began his career at the global investment banks Credit Suisse First Boston and DLJ. He holds an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management and a BA from Colgate University.
